ABOUT US

“THROUGH PUBLIC AWARENESS AND CHARITY EVENTS, OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE FUNDS TO PROVIDE COUNSELLING AND SPONSOR INDIVIDUALS TO ATTEND TRAUMA THERAPY TREATMENT”

The mission of the Nate D Foundation is to provide hope and healing to individuals and families impacted by addiction and mental health issues.  Through fundraising efforts, such as the Annual Nate D Foundation Slo-Pitch Tournament and our Annual Celebrity Fundraiser, we aim to raise funds to help individuals in our community through counselling/treatment and provide mental health services to them and their families.  100% of all proceeds support our cause and we are proud to say that to date, we have sponsored 6 individuals to attend trauma therapy treatment in Thailand along with multiple individuals to attend counselling locally.

We are committed to fostering a sense of community and empowerment for those impacted by addiction and mental health issues.  Through our fundraising, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can find the help they need to thrive and survive.

At the Nate D Foundation, we believe that every life is worth fighting for.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by addiction and mental health challenges, one person and one family at a time.

The Nate D Foundation is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness and resources for addiction and mental health to individuals and families.

Canada is currently facing a parallel pandemic of mental health and increasing substance use. There has been a 96% increase in deaths due to Overdose from 2020 to 2021 and the numbers are still increasing. More and more families every day are learning to navigate through grief and loss as a result of substance use and mental health related deaths.

ABOUT NATHAN (NATE) DANIEL:

Nate was born on March 12, 1992 in Langley, B.C.

He worked in the construction industry doing concrete forming. He had the best sense of humour and could light up a room with his jokes and his smile. He was a good Scottish boy with a love for dogs and family dinners. Nate had the biggest heart and was very compassionate and cherished his family and friendships.

Nate worked so hard the last 4 years of his life in recovery. In 2019, he was gifted a bed to a trauma therapy treatment centre in Thailand where he faced his mental health issues in entirety and came back home with the life back in his eyes. Unfortunately, with lockdowns and the isolation of the Covid 19 pandemic, Nate sadly relapsed and lost his life on January 28, 2021.

RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE!

Canada’s overdose crisis has worsened during the Covid 19 pandemic, with soaring numbers of deaths from illicit drugs and increasing.

In Canada, approximately 21% of the population ( about 6 million people ) will experience a substance use disorder or addiction at some point in their lifetime.

100% of your support will go to help pay for trauma therapy, treatment and counselling. To date, we have been able to sponsor 8 individuals with trauma therapy abroad and support several individuals with local counselling.
